Challenge to Be a Leader

The topic of leadership has been and continues to be a very important topic as you look at the whole of human history.  From the very beginnings of the earliest ancient civilizations to today’s multinational corporations, men and women with a passion to better themselves have sought to discover the secrets of moving others outside of their safe zones into the realms of performing way beyond anything they thought they were capable of leading them to an extraordinary life.

Every type of organization or collection of people with a common purpose from the very smallest to the very largest corporation requires skilled leaders to survive in today’s dog eat dog world.  Everything we do will either rise or fall depending on the type of leadership that is shown.  Every group including families, cities, churches, associations and even whole nations fulfills its purposes and potential based on the leadership that it has shown.  We try to complicate the picture with lots of mundane details, but when you get down to the heart of the matter, success revolves around leadership.

Leaders are given the charge, responsibility, and privilege to take the grand visions and lofty dreams of others and forge new ground, challenge, and encourage those who are willing to follow their leadership to ascend to new heights.  Leaders beckon for others to follow them.  They implore them to follow them.  They ask them to do this for their own good and for the good of the organization.  These leaders try to lead them towards the realms of their possibilities and potential.

In every group that forms there is a leader.  This person will influence others even if you don’t.  There may even be leaders that try to lead others down a path of doing things that are not morally right.  There is a quote that says “All it takes for evil to prevail is for the good man to do nothing.”  That makes a lot of sense to me.  So this is my compelling plea to all of you to stand up and be a leader of others.  Rise to the challenge and become great at leading people down the right path.  Our families depend on it.  Our communities depend on it.  Our nation depends on it.

People will follow you for two main reasons:

    1. They follow you for your character.  Who you are and what you stand for.
    2. They follow you for your skills, for what you do.

Make every effort you can to impart skillful and honorable leadership to anyone who would look to you for your wisdom, your guidance, and your beliefs.  Be someone who moves the human spirit forward.

Someone will lead.  Will it be you?  Why not you?  If not you, then who will lead?  If you will not lead now, then when?  If you want change to occur, then you need to make the change.  Don’t wait for someone else to do it.

Today, more than ever, you are needed.  Your strong character is needed.  Your skills are needed.  I know you will rise to the challenge.

Lead boldly,  Lead with faith.  Lead others to the pinnacle of human existence.  This is the highest calling you will ever have.  What will you do with this opportunity?

About wmarsau

Most of the people who visit this blog already know me so it is kind of pointless to try to describe my life in this short little blurb. What is the purpose of this blog is the question. Over the course of this last year I have been exposed to some amazing people and have made personal development an important focus of my life. Being successful, not by the world's standards, but by God's has become my main focus. Mainly, I want to work to develop myself as a person who is kinder, reaches out to help those in need, and truly makes a difference in this world. To this end I am constantly reading and am exposed to so many differnet things along the way. These have been amazing and it is helping me grow so much. Then I started to think, "Why am I being so selfish?" You need to share with others these amazing things you are learning and being exposed to. That is where this blog comes into play. As I am reading and experiencing things that are truly amazing and life changing, I will be posting them on this blog. Obviously, I will not be able to post everything in it's entirity, but I will be summarizing them and letting you know the source of the article or book they come from so you can check them out later if you wish. I want this blog to be a place where you can go to often and be inspired and leave here with a smile on your face. I will be covering all kinds of different topics dealing with success and personal development. Topics like taking action, relationships, living to your potential, reinventing yourself, finances, leadership, presenting, goal setting, time management, etc. I will also be occasionally including topics on cooking, music, and gardening because they are special interests of mine. As a little disclaimer, I have given my life to the Lord and he is #1 in my life. I am his servant and everything I do in life is for his glory. With that being said, religion influences all areas of my life. There will be references to God in this blog because I can't seperate God from this or any other area of my life. I want you to know that if you do not believe in God, that is fine. That is your choice. This blog is open to anyone who wants to better their life. I will not be trying to influence or pressure anyone into having a relationship with the Lord from this site. Please don't feel uncomfortable. You can just read the portions of the blog that you wish to. I am inviting you to go on a journey with me. We will learn together to be the kind of people we were designed to be. Anyone can make a difference in this world, but it starts%
